It may be from Fudzilla, but it sounds legit.  Let the fun begin!

Just as long as these DFI boards can support 2 dual-slot cards. They could be jerks and only allow single-slots.

why would they do that? regardless where they put them they would have the same amount of slots.

any marketing analyst saying they'd be shooting themself if they tried to corner a niche market with an intentionally crippled product

So when a company goes to release a product such as this, would they include built in video?  This would be useless wouldn't it seeing as its built to handle two video cards on purpose.

I'm interested in this more for the fact that Nvidia's plans on running a physics engine (Ageia technology) in their GPU's.  My purchase of a motherboard maybe delayed until I see more details regarding this matx motherboard....

A quad system based on two 8800GT's, a sound card that can handle Dolby Digital Live, and a wireless Card, all packed into a small SG03 with modifications and a carry around LCD Monitor makes me a happy portable computer person with extra cash on hand since he did not go and buy a high end gaming laptop for twice the price.  If that was the case, I'd still be saving up for it.

the majority of matx motherboards have onboard video but as you say, i can't see a lot of people buying something like this for microsoft office but you'll probably see onboard dvi or hdmi just so they can boost the price and tout features

all of nvidia's new SLI chipsets will have onboard video for Hybrid SLI support.

This would be interesting if the Hybrid SLI chipset motherboard came with 2 PCIe 16x slots to do true SLI plus the hybrid SLI.

This would allow you the power of two higher end video boards plus the additional help of the built in motherboard video (not sure how much help it can be...).  As well, when not using the video's full potential (surfing or working away in Open Office), the two dedicated video cards would be shut down, using only the built in video.

I'd be cool with this.  I'm just not convinced that SLI'ing a dedicated video card with the built in motherboard video would gain that much.  Would it?

My favourite one... DFI LP JR P45-T2RS . Shame we won't get any SLi mATX mobo, but this mobo may be the reason to jump to ATI cards fist time in my life... For example two 4850 n crossfire - some people say they would be equal to 8800Ultras in SLI... then after a few months jump to 2die 4870 and put two of these... may be pretty powerful, don't you think?

So that DFi mobo looks pretty cool now, when today we can read Radeon 4870 reviews... Pretty fast card - packing those two in Crossfire will be faster than GTX 280 (single one faster than GTX260 already).
BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!
DId you see review on P45 Crossfire??? 8x8 PCIe crossfire is a huve bottleneck! Sad(

On the other hand, here's review saying it is not that much difference.. only about 0.5 frame/sec  So, what should we belive in?

What do you think about it? Is that true? Can it be fixed by new drivers?
