Annvix

Basically from that it does what it says on the tin.

All in all, Annvix proved to be almost exactly what it advertised -- a stable, secure, server-oriented distribution providing a base platform for whoever needs it.

Might be useful for those interested in a server distro.

What's it based on? If I wanted a distro that was secure and reliable (and I do) I'd go for a better known and well established distro. I use Fedora on my home seever, in headless mode, and I've never felt the need to go for a 'smaller' or 'faster' distro. In fact I used to run ClarkConnect, and had some problems because it was just slightly different from vanilla Red-Hat. Maybe its just me though!

CentOS is another good stable distro, had lots of success with that.

Although tbh I never keep a distro for more than 6 months before I change. All my data drives run of a hardware RAID card so I can change the distro without effecting them so it often gets change when a fancy a change.

Annvix was orginially based on Mandrake I think. This was back in 2003 tho.
