20 Most popualr linux games

Ok we had the best games now its the most popular...really what is the difference apart from a word? Maybe I just look at it in a different light but still. Anywho another list on popular games for Linux. America's Army made it into the list not really a surprise on that one.

As long as the measurement methods are made available, you can evaluate the validity of the results.

The "best" thread drew a few replies on things members might have included if they'd been polled.  Your opinions are welcome on either best or popular.

To be honest ive not played many linux games, I enjoyed AA alot and also Tux Racer, also got Starcraft working through WINE as thats the only Windows game I can say I missed alot, but thats not a valid game for this thread I don't think.

It is interesting to see the games on linux appear to be like the games you got on windows in or around the year 2000. Some remind me of Doom or half life. (Not that thats a bad thing as they were both and still are good games)

If im going to play a game I would rather play it on a console and not a PC unless its something like Medieval total war or starcraft.

Tino,

You're right, a lot of the Linux games are pretty crude, although they can still be a lot of fun.  I can't stand to sit still, so even when the family is watching TV or between phone calls at work (I work from home), I'm filling the gap with time-wasters like KMahhongg, Kolf, chromium B.S.D, Blackbox and Missile Command.  It's doing nothing for my career or brain function, but it beats being stuck with Solitaire.  Smiley
