CLI Audio players

Quote
There are many other CLI audio players for Linux. MPlayer, for example, can play audio files from the command line. Music Player Daemon has many front ends but can also be used from the command line. Other notable apps that don't need a GUI are mpg123 and mpg321, mjs, jinamp, benmp3, xcplay, mcplay, and ncxmms. Choose the one that serves you best, and play that music loud!

Its a short, concise view into a few CLI players for linux. If your looking for some then there are a few decent links to some that are on offer to you. Personally I prefer MPlayer, but thats mainly due to the fact it plays more than just music. ;-P

Back when I lived in a student flat you could really annoy people by connecting to their boxes through a terminal session and running a cli player. Really freaked them out when the music would start by itself with no obvious apps running, usually ended up turning the PC off to kill it.
