Hi Guys,

Has anyone found a relatively simple way to get the PN18 playing nicely with Linux?

I'm trying to use an old SB51G as a Freevo box based on some flavour of Linux.  So far I've tried Mandriva and Ubuntu and despite finding various scraps of info online and community drivers etc I just can't get it working.  I'm not a complete Linux noob but some of the stuff I've found has been totally beyond my comprehension!

If anyone's got any bright ideas I'd love to hear them!

Thanks,

Use ndiswrapper with your windows driver to get it to work.

Its the easiest way to do it. Thats if your using ubuntu.

Ok after looking around a little bit more the PN18 appears to use the zd1211 chipset. An there are quite a few developed drivers for this chipset. here is a link to a page about it

Or try the drivers at this link

Thanks for the rfeplies guys, I'll have another go armed with some of that.  I know there is meant to be a driver that comes with the latest distros but it still seems to fail.

Anyway before I try again I need to reinstall as I managed to completely kill my x11 config last night.....   %-P

Cheers,
Ed
