I have an old avatar made for me by one of American Cousins across in yankee land, but the size restriction on here is 50k. I think my avatar is around 100k. Is it possible for this ceiling to be increased at all?

Thanks...

I have doubts they would increase it.  Think about it: At 100k with up to 15 posts per page you go from a maximum potential page size of 750k to 1.5MB, and thats before you include the text, forum design and advertisements.  Thats a pretty hefty load even if it is not always reached, and for those of us on only 1Mbit DSL it would suck considerably....

I'd get someone to size it down for you.

Thought I'd ask anyway Smiley  Thanks Reflex.

The Avatar is an Animated Gif - I can't remember how many frames there are. It was just a thought....

Suck even more for those of us on 500k GPRS or 56K dialup.
I would consider seeing how it looks if you drop every second user or the number of posts.

Vorlon, I would consider seeing how it looks if you drop every second frame or the colour depth.

Thanks Connor,

I might use it again - it's just the old one that DreamsInDigital made me over at Via some years ago. I found it the other day, had a quick look and remembered I hadn't used it on here because of the size limitation that when checking is still where it was Sad

Sorry guys, I checked but I don't think it's possible to increase the avatar size.

There is a way if the database is big enough to allow for it....

Its in the path  Admin  â€º  Members and Groups  â€º  Membership Preferences > Avatar Preferences (which I can't access but from a google it says it is there)
