core 2 solo

Hi, I am interested in using the core 2 solo U2200 processor because it is very low power. I am not sure where I can even order this part or what boards would support it. The Jetway J9F2 KHDE mainboard claims it supports core 2 solo, but according to the jetway website it does not list U2200 for compatibility. In fact, I do not know where I can buy _any_ core 2 solo processors, does anyone know and what do they think of them?

The U & L series Intel processors are soldered to a board rather than dropped in. You may find a board from one of the industrial board makers such as Kontron, Ampro, or Commell but if you do the price will be astronomical.
You can get Core 2 solo processors from web stores such as NewEgg. They carry the Celeron M 520 which is a socket M chip that can be used in the J9F2 boards.

The Celeron M 520 uses 29 watts, this is a lot more than the 5.5W of the U2200. Are there any other processors that are lower power?

If you just get a regular T series Core 2 cpu it has a top end of something like 34 watts but with speedstep running it operates at it's lowest speed and Vcore most of the time. A machine running a T series with a laptop HD and slim optical drive will run in the mid 20 watts on average for most tasks.
The new penryn core 2's that will use the socket B will have a top end of 24 watts. Intel will probably introduce these in a couple of weeks and hopefully someone like MSI or Jetway has a mini-itx board ready to use these.

Ok, thanks for the information. I find it very annoying that there exist these very low power processors that I cannot use. Can I get better power consumption by under-volting the T series processor?
I'm thinking about buying a laptop with the Low voltage core 2 duo then take it apart and remount things.. this is just an idea if there is no other solution.
