At under £90 including VAT, the board is certainly good value for its size and niche appeal. A good mini-ITX board can easily set you back £150, and usually an Intel mini-ITX board will need to add the cost of a CPU as well. While this doesn't have the grace of a few other HTPC-orientated mini-ITX boards we've seen (Albatron's AMD 690G with component outputs was especially nice), unless you can find an AMD 780G based one we suspect this could make the smallest possible Blu-ray capable machine you can buy (we'd love to see some mods around this).

It seems this board isn't on the Jetway website yet. I was just about to build an HTPC based on the Albatron KI690-AM2, but this is making me reconsider. The outputs on the Albatron board are lovely, but the 8200 has significantly better HD video decoding. It'll probably be a few months (years?) before I see one of these in Australia yet, so I may choose the 690 board after all.

EDIT: I was just looking in the wrong section, turns out Jetway have it on their site after all http://www.jetway.com.tw/jw/ipcboard_view.asp?productid=500&proname=NC62K

So for the perfect HD HTPC throw in a slimline bluray drive (not many around at the moment!), preferably slot load,  plus a solid state (CF) based boot drive, but ...

Which CPU Huh  Dual Core appears to be a must-have (bluray playback is going to be via some version of powerdvd), but how low can you go ?  What's the coolest AMD for the job ?

I'm considering this mini board myself (when it becomes available in North America that is). I was thinking about putting the 45w 4850e processor on the board. It's a 2.5ghz dual so that should be pretty decent for most stuff. Too bad it only has 1 memory slot...

Looks promising. I'm thinking of pairing this with a Chenbro NAS to replace my current Windows Home Server box. Any ETA in the US?

Raiden: I wouldn't know. I've looked at a couple of online retailers but they all seem to be German and only ship to the EU. You could try ringing your local Jetway distrobuter and asking them

I've settled on the 690 board, simply because it's availible. I'll be using the 4850e so I might do a thread on my HTPC when I'm done - let everyone here know how it went.

Here's a claim that the JNC62K is available in Europe for 112 Euros

That's a weird URL.

ABT computers, Brisbane. They're a distributer but the guy I talked to said they wouldn't mind selling direct to the public. $240, and they accept credit cards (most distributers won't, for obvious reasons)
