I put the WarMachine up on Ebay; got lots of attention, and someone "bought" it, but has subsequently gone doosh on me without payment.  Regardless, I freshened her up so that she'd look all perty for her new owner:

New paint and trim:

Cleaned up the back end by sanding the cut marks and replacing the chrome thumbscrews with super-leet black ones:

Here's a pics of the Thermaltake NB cooler installed (major PITA, by the way), along with the modifications I had to make to the HDD tray:

The numbers:

I was sad that it "sold", but am a bit relieved that the buyer appears to be a massive flake.  I'll likely relist her, but may decide not to sell her off after all.  Shoot, a near-silent SFF that pulls over 11k in 3dMark06 (scored on a 22" monitor, BTW) with a unique look and mind-boggling temps?

Then again, I may try a WarCommander with my SX38, or with the SP35 that's currently gather a fine layer of dust.

That's a nice looking rig.  I've sold a few in the past that I immediately regretted.  Isn't it funny how we get attached to hardware?  ;-)

The exposed vid card heatsink is sick looking man!  Nice hob!

Btw, did you mod the HD tray to fit the Vid Card?

I noticed you put the Intel sticker over that annoying G2 led. I like it. Tongue
I've read of mods of putting either electric tape or some layers of masking tape over the LED under the panel to cut down on the brightness.

Perhaps it looks brigt just from the pictures, but I can't help but wish your case cover was darker to fit with the rest of it. Or you could paint a really cool design on it if you're artistically inclined.

Thanks!  No, the HDD tray was modded so that it would clear the Thermaltake NB cooler.  I cut away to bottom of the tray and then riveted a stick of aluminum to connect the tray back together.

Ha!  Glad you like the Intel sticker "mod".  I'm not much of a sticker guy, but I gotta say that getting rid of that bright blue LED is worth any rice comment that comes my way.

As for the case color - I think my camera manages to use its flash every time I take a pics.  A result is that the case does look a bit lighter than what it really looks like.  It's a medium olive drab, almost like the green you'd see on an ammo can.

I've got an SD30G2B that I will likely soon mod in a similar way.  I don't need two WarMachines, but building them is kinda fun.  I'm also chomping at the bit to do it to my SX38 or SP35, but I don't wanna risk either case...
