keeping it civil

ok,so a thread got locked almost immediately because there was a little banter and quarrel, in a thread that is meant for nothing BUT debate and quarrel.

so if that's not being civil, just what in hell are we meant to reply with to keepo a debate open? "carry on chaps, i'm on the fence either way"

seems bloody pathetic if i have to say so :S

secondly, we have a debate section, and a current events section, any time i've seen a current event that i want to debate, it get's moved from the debate section to the current events section. just go for one section as on the whole debates are sparked by a current event..

anyhoo, just saying i'm not particualrly happy with where the site appears to be heading, very overclocker.co.uk-esque

I've just PM'ed Babar on this as i couldn't see why it needed to be locked. With the forums almost dead (political one anyway) I can see that this sort of moderating will kill it off alltogether. Perhaps thats Sudhians intention for all we know?

I have opened it again, I agree with you two and I see no reason for why it was locked. I will contact Babar later over it, when I get the chance.

Hugh, interesting suggestion about CE/debate sections, perhaps you are right and that some posts really belong in debate rather than CE.

I can discuss this with the other Mods, maybe we can change our policy and start moving "hot" threads over to the debate section.
