Alright so I did a search of the forums first and didn't find anything that was very recent. Anyway, I have a lite-on drive in one of the original qpacks and it just died on me the other day. I was wondering who still makes short drives, I've been kind of out of the loop in that regard since I built my computer way back when. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Lite-On's drives are still pretty short, but the shortest I have found are LG's new GH20NS10 and GH20NS15 SATA burners.  They're a couple of mm shorter than Lite-On's shortest DVD burner.

Pioneer drives have worked best for me in the past (allowed me to fit a DA650 silverstone psu in a sugo Smiley

I ended up getting a samsung from a store near where I live called Microcenter. It's kind of a chain, but less annoying than best buy and there aren't nearly as many of them. Anyway the drive fits well, it's as long as my old lite-on and so far so good in terms of performance. I moved up from a 16x to a 20x. It's considerably quieter than my lite-on was as well, but that could just be because I'm remembering the sound level it was putting out right before it died. Although nothing actually sounded "wrong" with it.

Thanks for the replies.
