Hello.

I've a sn78sh7 with 2 x 1 GB, 1 x laptop HD 80 GB, 1 x HD WD5000KS 500 GB and 1 x HVR3000 tunner. I'll not install a dedicated grafic card becouse I'll only use this system as a mediacenter (windows 7 Ultimate)

I would like to decrease the noise of the system.

can I replace the chipset fan with this pasive cooler ZM-NBF47?

and is posible to replace the psu by the fanless one like the PC62?

Thanks in advance

Hi paxaman,

as far as i know the PC62 is discontinued but apart from that it is a 200W psu. I think if your CPU has a TDP below 100W it might work. I've seen a lot of GF8200 Mainboards that use passive cooling on the chipset so it might work aswell. If you replace the cooler keep in mind that you void your waranty and to keep an eye on chipset temp for a while.

Partiality succes.

Chipset fan replaced by Zalman ZM-NBF47 Chipset Cooler with a little of work, but fits correctly and temps of the chipset are ok.

ICE fan replaced by SilenX Fan IXtrema Pro 92x92x25mm 14dBA, the problem is that only have 3 pin connector and there is no fan speed control, it's silent and temps go down 5 ºC so  I'm looking for a resistence to speed it down a little and decrease some extra noise.

The only I need now is a replacement for the PSU fan.....
