For the first couple of days after his flight ditched into the Hudson River, Paul Jorgenson was just glad to be alive. But then he started to need his laptop, his wallet, his car keys -- all the essentials he had stowed under his seat and left behind in the sinking plane A pleasant woman at US Airways told him not to worry; he would be made whole for his losses. But then the matter shifted to US Airways' insurer, the American International Group, operating under government stewardship since its bailout last fall.

"Everything went downhill,"

A.I.G. "is going to play hardball."

A spokeswoman for A.I.G.'s property and casualty business declined to comment.

I wonder how long it'll be before court challenges crop up.

Many are having second thoughts about that already, especially since so many of them are making billions in profits again and giving million dollar bonuses already.

if they refused me compensation, i'd demand to be allowed into the wreckage to look for my articles, whether they've searched the plane or not, or something equally pain-in-the-arse Tongue

if a company needs to take bail-out money, then i think that not a single salary should exceed the average wage in that country, it's tough on the guys who've had no say or influence in the companies downturn, but hell, if it weren't for the bailout money, they'd be earning $0 due to the company no longer existing, so yeah, all these sudden bonuses and such are a bit cheeky to say the least
