A shot in the dark, but whatever happened to it? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Its all over google, it got just as many reviews as the steel/SECC version but apparently nobody in the states has it in stock, and some claim it is discontinued? All the usual sites have it yanked (including my fav, newegg) and some quality time with google got me nowhere. Whats really strange though is I can't find any info about what happened to this model either, no forum chatter for example.
I've tried mailing and calling thermaltake but so far thats gone nowhere. (emails went into a black hole, the one time I got through on the phone I got a really confused person who just told me who their main distributors for everything they sell are, but couldn't help much more than that)
Plenty of stores in the UK claim to have it in stock however, not just a handful either so I don't think its website errors. (they list vf1000swa exactly, many include pictures and list the black secc version as a completely different SKU in their catalogs)
Another thing that throws me off, apparently at one of those computer trade shows where they originally showed it off, they had a black exterior version that was 100% aluminum as well! Thats what I'd kill for, but the silver looks just fine too.
I can't stand steel cases (see username) for various reasons, one of the chief one being rust and how small nicks/fingerprints show up and grow worse after months or years.
The others being weight and just general feel, a dozen years of conventional steel towers really turned me off to them. (Lian-li got lots of money from me in the past for my overbuilt gaming rigs...)
I just plain hate standard cheapo steel, I even wish you could get DVD drives in something else. (hard drives seem to have found good material, learn from them please)
