Hi all,

This is a bit of a cry for help (and your knowledge) primarily on matters Pentium 4. I have just got hold of a Soltek EQ3401, it has a 2.4ghz Northwood core P4 in it which I am looking to upgrade. Does anyone know what CPU's are supported by this motherboard? I have never built a P4 system, so am completely in the dark. I know for example there are 533 and 800 mhz FSB CPUs, but I'm not sure if there is a chipset limitation is its support for Northwood and not Prescott with one or the other FSBs etc etc... Like I say, I'm no expert on Intel chipsets/cpus.

All I can currently find are the following specs for the mobo:

Soltek SL-B8E-F motherboard suitable for EQ3401 Qbic, Intel 865G+ICH5 chipset, CPU Socket 478B, 800/533/400 MHz FSB, 2 x 184-pin Dual-Channel DDR400/333/266MHz

I'm looking at a CPU with Hyper-threading, somewhere around 3 or 3.2 ghz. Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated.

Finally, this might be a long shot, but does anyone know the BIOS versions that support these CPUs etc??

Regards,
