Hi all,
Am new to this forum so take it easy on me Wink
i have tried some other forums but unfortunately i havnt many answers as there isnt many shuttle users.

well i have built myself a HTPC hybrid workstation about 1 month ago around the sa76g2 shuttle chassis.
throwed in 1tb f3, aII x4 630 and 4gb ram etc. am really pleased as this is my first shuttle and sff build ever and am pleased in how small the device is and is nippy for all my tasks.
even though the noise isnt terriblly loud, it is quite noticeable. giving my ear a scout around the case, one of the psu fans is whinney and the other isnt and the ICE fan isnt too loud even with SMART fan enabled in bios.
does anyone have any advice and recomendations in what to replace one of the psu fans and ICE cooling fan with.
i would need a 4 pin 92mm (i think) ICE fan replacement that shifts some air but also is silent and can vary spped with smart fan.
also is there any 40mm fans that are quiet and suitable to stick in my psu to shut it up ^^.
will be extremely grateful for all advice.

PS: if anyone also has the nice SA76G2 or a G2 xpc chassis, do they know if they could be modded to fit a mini itx motherboard? also i dont know the full reason behind this but when i turn my xpc on, there is a lot of noise that sounds like that pulse voltage noise from the motherboard when my hdd is being accessed. my old p4 pc used to give that old pulsing/crakly noise all the time but newer pc's should be silent. i doid think at first it was the orange HDD led making the noise but this is untrue. it only occurs when the light is on so something is causing it. some person told me that it is due to EMI with the sound cables but my mini jack line in has ferrite cores at both ends to reduce the EMI. dont know if anyone else gets this aswell and would be grateful to know if it is a problem.

Hi Spoof,

A bit late but welcome to the forums Smiley

Essentially, Shuttle have used 1U server PSU's in their G series XPC's, stock ones in the early models and modified with temperature controlled fans in the later and after-market models.

Some of the PSU's can be modded with other 40mm fans to run quieter and cooler or you can purchase one of the after-market ones.

The straight G and G2's get the cheaper (& noisier!) PSU's, the G4, G5, P2, H7, etc get better PSU's.

What make and model PSU is in your SA76G2? (250W Elan Power RP-2005-00, 250W ENG 8P-B5501B0, etc).

The Shuttle ICE with the Shuttle badged ADDA 92mm 4 pin PWM Fan and controlled by the BIOS Smart Fan is very efficient and generally reasonably quiet with all but the higher end CPU's and video cards installed.
