Quick question for you. Who was Robert April, José Ortega, Phillip Boyce and Colt…..and what do they have to do with Star Trek anyway? If you aren't quite the Star Trek geek you thought you were, please read on.


 So if you thought you knew everything about Star Trek, this document might hold some surprises for you. Either way, it's an essential read--after all, these 16 pages are where a legendary science fiction franchise began!

It's nice to see the origins of works such as Star Trek.  I wish there were more drafts and outlines out there.  Ii haven't sen it yet, but I read the Ron Moore wrote up a writing guide or "bible" for Battlestar Galactica well before writing scripts.  On the same subject, Glen Larson had written several story outlines for a second season of the original BSG.  In some ways I'm glad these never came to be, because ABC had planned to trim the show's budget, which meant several actors weren't coming back.
