what is the best single slot card video card in the market now?

I have a 3 yrs old Shuttle SG33G5. Unfortunately I can't fit a dual slot video card in there, so now I am using 8800 GT as my vcard.
It's quite noisy because of the fan, so I am thinking of upgrading to a better card (in perfomance) and less noiser than 8800 GT
anyone can recommend one?
I read about GT 440, but the performance is below 8800 GT.
Thanks.

I'm not sure it's a good idea to put in best available you can get in a 3 year old Shuttle
I bought myself a XFX Radeon HD 5670 to my 5 year old Shuttle last year. I was overwhelmed by the performance. But I was also used to a integrated gfx card... It's also very silent and it does not need any power cables ( I was a little unsure about cables on my Shuttle) It only needs the power it can draw from the PCI Express slot.
Now, I don't think you want a 5670 today. The market has changed. I just wanted to let you know that you can good results with a cheap card.

I would need a good card since my SG33G5 only has one DVI port and I want to run dual screen mode (therefore can't use the integrated video built in), one for my big 50 inch LCD TV, for my cinematic viewing (DVD, bluray, movies, etc), and one for my 22 inch LCD monitor, for my daily needs. I have both of them side by side, as the PC is set in my bedroom.
The only thing I would want to upgrade is a new CPU 775 socket (before they go kaboom as the Intel i3 and i7 sets in), a new Hard Drive (old one is 500 GB, I want 2 TB), and a new video card so I can have dual screen.
