Whats your favorite desktop environment?

Alot of change these days as Gnome fans either hang on to Gnome 2.x or learn to love 3 but many are moving on.
For me I use to be a huge Gnome fan but KDE 4.6 is my favorite now followed by LXDE and Fluxbox.
If LXDE became slightly more features it would be my overall favorite no doubt.
E17 Ive enjoyed with Bodhi but it never quite felt as comfortable.

Whatever happened to Enlightenment? Has it been abandoned?

E17 is Enlightment and LXDE is E11.
E17 is doing very well and Bodhi 1.0 probably is one of the best examples of it.

That's so cool. I really liked Enlightenment more than Gnome/KDE many years ago when I first tried Linux but development was going at an anemic pace. I ended up going with Gnome. A lot of Live CDs I have use KDE and I like it too -

E17 is very versatile but doesnt hold a candle to the recent KDE 4.6 and Gnome 2.x.
The issue with Gnome is the recent 3 was dissapointing so users are clinging to Gnome 2.x
XFCE for many is a good compromise between resource usage and speed.

I think I tried XFCE once, I liked it. It worked on a very old laptop that I was trying to rehabilitate.

XFCE has most of the features people want from a full os but runs with less resources.
I have to say though Kubuntu 11.04 with KDE 4.6 doesnt use more resources than Xubuntu 11.04,in fact less.
