Do you use Linux exclusively or are you a crossover user who still uses Windows as well?
I use Linux for everything except gaming.
Im typing on Kubuntu 11.04 right now and most Windows users would find it an easy adjustment to use it.
So many different ways to interact with Linux you can always find something that will suit you.
Installs are so quick that alone convinces many to stop using Windows.

I use Linux (Ubuntu) if all else fails. For PC troubleshooting for example. Windows 7 gives me everything I need in an easy to use package. If I had a netbook I'd definitely use it as a main OS for that device.

Like Win7 but it doesnt hold a candle to Linux,Kubuntu 11.04 in my case. Installs are like lightning, stability and security excellent and upgrading and updating a breeze.
Kubuntu 11.04 will run on my old p3 1.2ghz laptop with 1gb of ram versus Win 7 that claims it can do it but in reality is slow.
What version of Ubuntu are you using?
Ill remain a crossover for gaming reasons but if I didnt game id use Linux full time.

We run a charity group in my area that distributes donated pcs to seniors and people who cant afford hardware.
We use Windows if its available but the majority of the hardware is using Linux.
We give them a choice of different distros and let them try them and install what they like the best.
Seniors havent had any issues using it.

I'm just using 10.10 burned on a CD for troubleshooting. I have some problems lately which I can't seem to pinpoint and it helps to have an OS that can assist in the troubleshooting.
I can't agree on ease of use though, I've run into bugs/errors/problems plenty of times just trying to do documented features, like using auto-login which wouldn't work on Ubuntu 9.x or screensaver not innitiating. But I don't mind though, it's free for a reason.

Youve used one distro?
Ubuntu 9.04 had very few issues but 10.10 is very solid.
Screensaver was a known issue with 9.04 but was fixed very quickly. The difference with Linux is problems get fixed very quickly compared to Windows where problems go for months.
Ive got 80 year old seniors using advanced features on Linux so its definitely easy to use.
Most users once they try Linux after using Windows are amazed how easy it is to use and to maintain.
Anyone who thinks Windows is easy to use and easy to update/ install hasnt tried Linux.
Linux today is at a point where a person can install it in less than 30 minutes, learn how to use it in a day and over time find it as easy to use as Windows.
Ive tried many retail os over the years and had issues so the fact that Linux is free doesnt make it any less a good product than other offerings.
Given that Linux is used in the majority of servers and devices around the world is obviously a proven product that continues to gain popularity.

I'd use Ubuntu if I only needed basic OS capabilities like web browsing, email, file browser, etc. But since games don't work and GIMP isn't Photoshop, I just can't sacrifice all that for some other less-important benefits.

I wouldnt use Ubuntu for just basic needs as there are far better lightweight distros that can do that.
Linux Mint offers Ubuntu with a much more full featured package with less restrictions.
Personally I can do pretty much anything with Kubuntu 11.04 and I do game with it but some games just dont perform as well in emulators as they do in their native os.
Most of the issues with Linux have been the drivers and no native support for games but in time that may change as drivers have improved hugely.
