But it's tethered, which means every reboot it's useless unless you hook it up to a computer with the right software.

I'm glad Apple released 4.3.4 so soon, half of the iPads in the store were jailbroken because some kids thought it was cool.

Took Apple weeks to issue a patch, and the hackers only hours to break it.

Funny how software holes are so easy to find, makes you wonder why software companies don't try to hack their products themselves to discover bugs before it goes out. They want to save a couple of bucks, I guess.

The thing is, its actually cheaper for them to release the software and let other people find the bugs so they can fix them then.

Rather than trying to find the bugs themselves.

Most of the bugs are the ones that are really obscure and no one has thought to test them.

It probably won't be soon. The last browser-based bug was in August last year.

I wouldn't call a buggy tethered jailbreak that doesn't work on an iPad 2 and is based on the previous exploit from Pwnage Tool, a win.

What do you call easy ? The iPad 2 wasn't jailbreaked until recently. In the end, software that is made by humans, can be hacked by humans. There is no sensible amount of money that would eliminate all bugs without making every device a lot more expensive.

Don't forget though, the PDF exploit can be used for good or bad.
