Hi All,

I'm afraid to say that the day has come and the decision has been made by Jasper the Site Owner and Babar the Site Admin to close the site down.

It will shortly be becoming a read only forum with no access to create new topics or any further discussion.

I just wish to thank everyone who visited and still visits the site, especially those who have contributed  over the years.

All boards other than this one have already been set to read only.

Kind Regards

tino ( Site Admin )

As am I melsmed, I had made this site my home.

An even tho it has greatly reduced traffic still felt it had a place on the Internet.

If you have any ideas' on how to continue the site I would welcome them, either in a pm or in this thread.

None come to mind right now, but since Shuttle seems to be getting their act together and the popularity of SFF via mitx systems, maybe we can get more people back.

i know that i no longer post much, but is not only here.

Maybe making a post in Reddit will help spread our name to the newer Shuttle owners, which must likely are not aware of us.

I kind of blame Shuttle itself, first by their crappy delivery the last 5 years or so and by creating a competing forum, instead of directing owners here.

i'm so upset right now....

I am the same, the lack of new unique content and reviews at this site is the main issue.

Without that new membership is unlikely to occur.

I hope that this section will remain open for a while longer, and we are trying to find a better solution.

I just felt that the membership deserved to know, I will update if any progress is made.

Though we gave it a go, all good things must come to an end.

Sudhian was my first "home" on the Internet.  I had some great times here and learned a lot.  I am not sure I would have stuck with Shuttle products so long without the information I received here.

Though I could take a small part of the blame for it's demise (I guess I just gave up), I will always be proud of the things I did do that, I believe, made Sudhian great back in the day.  Clearly the highlight was attending CES as a representative of Sudhian with Jasper, SEH and others - that was awesome.

I guess that is that - You can find me on Anandtech, also as MotionMan.

Take care,

MotionMan

Tino and DB are aware, but just so everyone else knows as well, I did make an offer to buy Sudhian outright.  Ultimately terms couldn't be met with Jasper.  As you guys may or may not know, I currently run Losias.net, and we ourselves are dedicated to SFF hardware and modding.  While we are much smaller, we've got a fiercely dedicated group of guys at the core.  We also happen to have a lot of industry contacts.  We just relaunched the site with a vBulletin upgrade, and have a ton of fresh new content on the way.  I was really hoping that by taking over Sudhian, I could couple the fresh content and reviews of Losias, with the loyal Sudhian user base and history.

It really comes down to content, and although exciting things are happening in the SFF world, the content just isn't here.  It takes something sustainable, and that is something that was just currently beyond reach here.  Without trying to step on any toes, once/if this site goes full static, we would welcome any of you at Losias.  Since the Shuttle subforum gets the most traffic, I would consider opening one there specifically for that.

I've got a very long history with Sudhian.  This is where I got my start.  My Shuttle SN25P, and it's subsequent mod are really what took me down the modding road.  In fact, the L.O.S.I.A.S. and Rogue mods that followed are still 2 of the top 3 most viewed topics of all time here.  So, I really did want to try and make a difference.  There are a lot of familiar names here, and I'd hate to see them move on to larger sites where it's easier to get lost in the crowd.  Community matters, and Sudhian has always had a great one.  It's something we strive for at Losias too.  No matter what happens here, it's been a great run, and I do hope I catch you all elsewhere on the net in the future.

I had a lot of good times with Sudhian and learned a lot from the experience.  I had the pleasure of meeting Jasper and others at CES years ago.  Good luck to everyone.

Sorry to see Sudhian go by the wayside, would like to have seen a refresh with new content.

I remember the old days when we were VIA-Hardware, lol!

I am also at Anandtech and PCPer, both as wdb1966.

The SFF site posted above looks interesting, will have to check it out!

Sorry to see this forum closing.

I blame Shuttle for taking so long to release models based on current chipsets and for creating their own forum.

I'm Synomenon on Anandtech and on Hardforums.

Like the others before me, it's disappointing to read that Sudhian is closing down.

I remember back in about 2004 to 2005 when the SN41G2 and SN45G came out and the  pioneering spirit and the great numbers of forum members that shared their experiences and modifications to improve/optimize/speed-up these models.

There was a real sense of community then.

Times change.

Bye folks and farewell.

Sorry to hear that. I remember my fist time I came to this forum for help with my SN41G that experienced some memory issues. Thank you to all for the help I received over the years. I sure will miss this site.

Let me just say that:

By informing everyone of Sudhian's closing it shows that extra bit of class lacking in other (ex)sites;

rather than abruptly going dark, as other sites have done, without prior warning.

Another reason this site will be missed.

 Cry

Bye bye!

I have very hapy memories of this site which in a way was my first real home on the internet where I posted extensively. For so long I coveted a SN45 and eventualy got my start with an SN95G5v3 (Tino got it from me). I still have three Shuttles in the house and may want to buy an X36v for a music player project. Hifi is where I'm at these days - Pinkfish Media and Naim forums.

Thanks to all the above contributors that made Sudhian the best site for Shuttle computers!

Best wishes,
Peter

I just read an article on a new Shuttle, and thought I'd drop in to see what's been going on around here in the last little while.  Like others, Sud was my first online "home" and helped me get comfortable enough with computer assembly that I haven't bought a pre-built computer since I first logged on here, lo, those many moons ago.

Oh no, did not expect this at all!
What will happen with the Sudhian Folding team now? Sad

I had a great time here, although that was several years ago. I will miss Sudhian a lot, indeed.
