OK.  I am thoroughly embarrased.  www.soldam.com should have been the first place I checked, but I just searched on google instead, and strangly enough no results that were even decent showed up.  Anyways, I'm embarassed, but at least I found the site.

I got the Lite On 48X burner to burn at 48X. I needed the latest version of DiscJuggler. As much as I liked the LG combo to be used as a burner, Lite On is just better as a burner and with DiscJuggler 4.1 I can make the LG combo burn something, while I can burn something else in LiteOn at the SAMETIME. Thats what DiscJuggler 4.1 claims to be able to do. I haven't tryed yet. That little software is so esy to use, it has an overburn option, it can burn images and it can burn DVD's. All in one little program which takes 30 second to install unlike Easy CD Creator. Another little plus. I just noteced that my Altium came with the 2 extra yellow jumpers.

What are the sizes of the case?
What I mean: how much do you actually gain by adding the 5.25"? Cause it was my intention to buy a small case and not an expendable one. Cause when I want to look cool and expand I would buy myself a Lian-Li casing.
Sorry for the pessimism. I do understand your frustrations about your RMA problems and going for another option. I just would like inform other users to not forget the 'objective of going small'.

And I do would like to know where you bought it (is it available in europe?) and if you can provide us with more reviews. Cause it IS a great alternative to the SS51. (me is getting paradoxial )

Rhy; this is the only place to get it:   http://www.soldam.com/barebone/altium/   You will find all the data on Altium on that link. It's only 20mm larger than Shuttless51g in depth. If you are looking for the smallest duel 5.25 bay case, this is it. Before I desided to get Altium, I took a look at Lian-Li, it's way bigger, compare the dimensons for your self. By the way I bought Altium because of duel 5.25 bays not because I had to RMA my Shuttle SS51g, I like ShuttleSS51g, but it's only secondary to me, Altium is the first. I called and was told I'll be gettiing a replacement ShuttleSS51g, a new one, I will probably end up selling it. Bottom line if money is no consern ( shipping it self will be about $90.00, the whole thing will run about $500.00), go with Altium, It's the same as ShuttleSS51, same motherboard. I find it to have more room, especialy when I was installing the AGP card, it was much easyer than it was on ShuttleSS51 and yes the major plus is the second 5.25 bay. I don't see any other box that is as small and as full functioning as a big tower case.

I decided against another Shuttle... not because of Shuttle because I need to beef of my current one first. This is a very nice looking case. The thing that keeps me from buying one is the increased price for another drive bay... I am curious if the PS can handle it ?

Yea getting more than one ShuttleSS51G is a bit too repetitive, if Altium is around. I'am planing to sell the one I got. The power supply does a great job handleing all my hardware that are in my signature. If you do get something with duel 5.25 bays make sure to stick a LiteOn 48X burner, it kicks ass, no wonder  like MaximumPC mag gave it a kick ass award, it is just so FAST, akuret and cheap in price. Also with DiscJuggler 4.1,the program that I use to burn. I was able to burn a 4X CD-RW disk at a 12X speed. I don't see my self going back to any other burner.

I have a preaty nice heat sink in my Altium right now. But I desided to order a new Zalman CNPS5700D-Cu
whic has a nice Zalman 80mm Fan Duct which forces the air flow in to one direction. I will direct it to the front went. Check this link to get a better idea of this new heatsink.  http://www.sharkacorp.com/cgi-bin/TLSstore.cgi?user_action=detail&catalogno=cnps5700d-cu   Although Zalman recomends to face the fan duct to the fan, I think in my Altium it will suit better if it will e faced to the front went. I will try faceing it to the back fan also, which ever position ends up being better in performance.
