Currently one computer at home and all of the computers at work are stalled after completing a WU. They can't seem to transmit the WU. The home computers that I have running -advmethods are still going. Anyone know whats going on?

My Slot A has been having the same problems, and it mainly seems to be that it cannot connect to any server, which leaves it hanging, as it doesn't have anything else to work on until it transmits the WU info.

Server StatusThe servers which allow connection on port 80 are not rejecting yet, but they are very loaded (they usually used if you access through a network Firewall). It's often happening during week-ends when the Stanford university staff is not at work to reset the servers and more computers are running. Server 107 has disappeared since Friday, I guess they are working on it... server 107 thread Currently the only servers giving WU are: .86 (GaH) .109 (FaH + port80 - heavy loaded) .117 (Adv - a bit loaded) .119 (FaH + port80 - really heavily loaded) .120 (FaH) Best solutions are to either give your computer a rest, or try again. 10min later... Well it changes every 10min., server .117 is now heavily loaded... have a look yourself if you want the latest updates

Update: Two of the work computers broke through and are working again. Two are still stuck, checked the logs and they can't log in to get work. I switched the home computer that was stuck over to gromacs... that one is going again.
By the way, since they are offering that 10 point work unit, its a good idea to switch everything to -advmethods.

I've discovered an even more important column on the server status page: ACTIVITY It gives the time in minutes since the server last did something usefull. Which means, if the server hasn't done anything usefull for at least 5 minutes then it's very likely to be not working well espacially during week-ends. I am gonna take this opportunity to give my SS51 his first rest in 2 months He deserves it.

I can see what you mean by .117. It says its accepting but it hasn't been "active" in about 3 hours (as of 2 pm CST). Meanwhile, I have two of my comps ready to send in some pAla7-2 jobs and they can't because of .117. Just a little bit frustrating.

I'm sure they're getting pounded because of the Google Team. Those stats are unreal and I'm sure they're not ready for this kind of prosperity.

117 is back up. Nice to see the Stanford gang come in during the weekend and give it a boot.

Finally! I have drop back to 23rd this week but I lost a P4@2G rig. Had to give it back to the person I built it for. Hope she has it up and folding for me soon.

Google has really slammed them. I'm still not seeing updates regularly, and sometimes have trouble getting/sending work. I added more power yesterday and none of that has shown up at all. I think i've lost a few WU's too. Hope they get it fixed soon.

You probably haven't lost any work units. I've read over at their forums that when the servers get overloaded they sometimes have to load the stats manually and it can take a few days. Give it a few days and see if they turn up.

I have found when a stall occurs, just close the Folding program and wait an hour or so. The Folding program will start where it left off, when you restart it, causing no loss of points or completed WU's.
