As you may already know, the forthcoming EPIA-M will not fit into the current CF-7989 mini-iTX case.
This because the CF-7989 has the rear ports cutouts stamped out of the case & thus doesn't use the standard 'backplane' - the EPIA-M has a different rear port layout than the existing EPIA's, so will not fit. (Yeah, yeah, yeah - this is OLD news!)

Anyway, I received some new info this week which states:
'The new case is different from the old one because the new one has floppy drive plus the I/O shield is different'
'The leadtime will be around 6-7 weeks'
'Will keep you informed about the availibitlity'

So, for those of us who thought that we could just replace our EPIA with an EPIA-M in this case will be sadly disapointed.
And if the leadtimes are correct, then it looks like the new version may not be available until quite a while after the EPIA-M hits the streets later this month.....

More news when I have it..

Any idea how much the EPIA-M will cost?

No real firm pricing yet - but a good guess would be around £120-£140 ($180-$210 USD) in the UK.

Will the backplane be fixed like at present, or will it have a cutout section?  I was planning to buy one and hack it to fit my B860T in but I might wait now....

As I understand it, it will have a punched out rear panel for all the ports & not for a 'backplate'...

Why they don't just make it so that a standard backplate fits, I have no idea.... (But I have asked why..)
