Does anybody know how I can activate the HLT (=Idle) command on a VIA KT400 Mainboard (=Asus A7V8X) with an Athlon XP CPU?

Follow the old instructions, but substitute register D2 for 92, and D5 for 95.

So, enabling ACPI cooling would involve setting register D2 to a value of Hex:EB (or setting bit #7 to a value of 1). Setting HLT cooling would mean setting register D5 to 1E, or setting bit #1 to a value of 1.
