I found this case while searching around for the ideal HTPC enclosure. Basically it's fairly small, looks like stereo equipment, and seems ideal for the job. The owner of the company, Glenn, seems to be quite open to accomidating custom requests and adding cool gadgets (like EL front displays, IRBlasters, Powermate controllers, etc..)

It's not an SN41G, but if you can't wait for shuttle you could always build your own with one of these.

too many fans -> too many noise
and too big ...

a HTPC system should be as small and as silent as a set top box

VIA mini ITX is a good solution

Actually, that case is perfect for an audiophile/videophile system as it is <19" wide.  HTPC. Yes.  SFF.  No.

The dimensions make for a nice HTPC as it'll fit right in with the rest of the equipment, but I agree with AWAX....too many fans and therefore too noisy for HTPC....of course, fans can always be removed/changed/shooshed!

The fans are low noise and addtionally are running at reduced voltage. The case itself it designed to be a heatsink (Hence the name, "Heatsink Case") so it requires less airflow internally. I think that the theory behind that is that the hard drives, DVD drive and PS are all touching large areas of 1/4 inch aluminum, so heat from these "hot" components is directly dissapated thought the case.

Additionally the IRMan mounting, DVD push button controls (which connect to the Matrix Orbital VK204-25), the mounting for the VK204-25 itself, and mounting for the Griffin Technologies Powermate Controller make it an ideal HTPC case...

I've never seen this much of an attempt to make a PC suitable as a livingroom device.

We'll see how loud it actually is when I get it... I've already bit-the-bullet and ordered one

Looking forward to hearing what you think.  I'm pulling the pieces together for an HTPC now, but I don't have a case yet.  I was figuring on making my own since I couldn't find one I liked....but this just might do it, keep us posted, please!

The Cooler Master ATC 610 GX1 case is what I ordered for my HTPC.  I'm waiting for the mATX nforce2 MB to make an appearance in the market.

Wow, sweet.  Looks like they put a huge amount of thought into the design of this, and it really seems to optimize space.  I had to look twice when I realized that it took an ATX motherboard.  Also looks pretty easy to work in, unlike the Coolermaster ATC-600, which I _HATED_ working in...so much so that I sold it a month after getting it.

I look forward to reading some real-world impressions of this.
