Thinking about Adaptec RAID 1200A. Will the shuttle boot from a striped raid with only two drives? The 1200A supports bootable partitions if the PCI slot supports Bus Mastering and it fits.

I would think so, but try checking the boot options in the Bios.  Not sure, but look for selection other than A: , C:, and CDROM for boot order options.

All the Promise raid controllers that I have used are bootable. I don't have to do anything in the BIOS in order to boot from them. The boot order is always CDROM, C, A. They simply treat the RAID controller as another IDE channel.

I'd be suprised if the XPCs didn't support Bus Mastering. When PCI was first introduced, Bus Mastering didn't really exist. But now, it should be pretty difficult to find a machine without it.
