I'm new to both athlons and Shuttles this time around, so I'd appreciate a little reassurance/advice.

My XP2600+ is running at 46' idle , 49' at 100% load ( around 25' over ambient ), motherboard steady at 43' . Reported by MBM

Is this within normal parameters ?

I ask as I can get it to reboot/reset running seti@home with no other apps for 20mins or so .. temp does flick up to 50' for a few seconds - but I have the fan guardian set at 48' and no autoshutdown selected in bios.

I *would* have thought this is a reasonable cpu temp , so it isn't this causing the problem. Kill seti and it's as stable as a stable thing - but I am concerned that it is barfing under prolonged stress.

I'm going to update the MX440 drivers now to see if that helps ...

System:
Shuttle SN41G2
AMD XP2600+
2x256 Corsair2700ddr ( w' heat spreaders )
Win2k
Onboard MX440 (for now)

Cheers

that doesn't sound too bad m8t, I have a Intel setup..

Idle @ 38'C
Load @ 41-3'C

Althon do seem to run at higher tempertures compared with the P4's so I wouldn't worry about it. The temps you got are still very low anywayz, as long as the system is stable then you should be fine.
