Sorry if this is a double post but I've search 'eVGA' and haven't found anything ...
link to the page on eVGA

As I said so many times already : we would be able to fit a GFX inside a Shuttle case. All people answered me the REFERENCE design was double slot, but I answered that not all manufacturer will follow the reference design and as long as the product wasn't out, we couldn't known.

Now, eVGA announced a single slot eye catching cooling solution :

It might look nice in a SN41g2

Ooh, good job! I hope there is enough clearance for that fan against the side of the tower.  This might warrant a window casemod with a hole and small grill.

Thats not a GFX card...its only a 4600TI with that cooling system.  All GFX's will be made by Nvidia and look the exact same (at least initially) so no chance at least the first go around of getting one to fit inside a Shuttle Case... Shame as all Shuttle had to do was swap the position of the AGP and PCI slots.

*edit*

Heres a link to a review of the card

I hope they will ship to the UK - anyone know of somewhere that stocks eVGA in the UK?

Well, if you go to eVGA web page, you'll see that they're talking ALSO about this cooling solution for GFX ... I thought the same as you before ready this page ...

GO READ THE PAGE ON eVGA :
"eVGA.com will have ACS3 cooling solution for the GeForce FX as an option. "

It's entirely possible..just not in the initial batch... Nvidia has stated they are handling all the initial boards and third party's will just be rebranding them and packing them.

I for one find it hard to believe that EVGA will be able to pull of the ACS3 in its current form with the GFX...  I remember how crappy the initial ACS system was and reading the reviews this ACS3 doesnt seem to be much better...The way I see it is that if Nvidia could have cooled the GFX initially with a single slot solution they would have.. but Im sure in 6 months the design process will evolve and third parties will come up with something.

I'm a little confused by the image they use featuring a shuttle with a window in the side of the case.  Do they also intend to release a replacement outer case for the Shuttle?

Give it a few months and we might see one...

Till then ill stick with GF-FX is simply incompatible with SN41s, although with any luck Shuttle have contacted Nvidia and asked whats going on?

Why doesnt Nvidia just flip the board around and put the GPU and the cooling system the other way around...so it faces down on normal tower cases, just about all standard cases (and shuttle XPC) have a slot under the APG slot.  Not all cases have one above!!!  they need to give us a chance...lets get Nvidia to change their board...not shuttle their cases!

Hmm good idea, the cooler itself looks nice - now if they'd lose the ugly advertising faceplate that runs the length of the card.

having all the gubbins on the upside of the card is somthing ive wondered about for a while most mobos have a large space about the agp slot anyway or some mobo add in slot etc
why dont gcard makers make cards with the gpu on top you could in some respects have a much bigger gpu fan ;/

EVGA are good friends of Shuttle, and we've been testing this new cooling solution for some time. Pleased to say it works great, and looks killer too!

Interesting... how noisy is this card?  Can't quite work out from the pics but how does the fan work?  Does it draw air IN through the hole and over the heatsinks or draw air out.  And if it draws air in, which direction does it push the warm air out?

That's bollocks, nVidia themselves that would be a stupid system as everyone would then rely on what nVidia reffered to as an unreliable source.  nVidia make chips, not cards.

Pic of a referance GF-FX installed, as you can see, it uses the slot under the card for space and support.  The problem is Shuttle re-organised the order of the slots in their Shuttles and have put the AGP under the PCI, not vice-versa.

And the exact quote about production:

<< [TS]: How does the production process work for the Geforce FX? We have heard rumours that only Nvidia themselves manufactures the complete cards and then sells them on to third party manufacturers.
[Nv]: We are currently not completely sure of how the production will look for the Geforce FX. The scenario you present is based on a not too dependable source.
>>

The main problem I reckon is gonna be power... this thing sucks heaps of it and most shuttles only have a 200w PSU.

If they dont find a cooling solution that fits then the NV31 will be the only choice - it will apparently compare well to a GF4Ti4600 but with lower cost (I hope).

Assuming ATI can maintain their cooling for the R350 (R300 update) and R400 then their cards will definitely be on my next upgrade list (currently have a GF3Ti500).

All will be mae clear shortly. Even if you do not run an SFF there are many pc-manufacturers out there wanting to implement huge cooling solutions with the cards they wnt to use with their systems. If nvidia does not coem with more simpler and efficient designs, it is bye-bye Dell etc...
