I just thought of a possible approach in trying to deal with spam. I am STRONLY considering forwarding to my local state representative as well as to my congressman and my senator, every piece of spam I receive!!!!!!! If every constituent took the very same approach, I am willing to bet the farm that a solution would be found ..VERY FAST.

Your thoughts?

Yeah, all you'd do is get yourself in a heap of trouble.  Or at the least most of them would make your day very misserable.  I agree that this would be a good way to get their attention except for one thing.  99% of them already have a very complex spam filtering system in place and all that would happen with your email is it would go into one huge digital file 13, or /dev/null if you prefer.

IF you're having issues with this stuff becoming a problem, go look up the rules on submissions of this stuff to the FTC.  They're putting their foot down and doing a major witch hunt on thes spammers.  So far from what I hear, they've put their collective foot so far up the butts of 5 of the biggest ones out there that they will be blowing shoe laces out their nose for quite a while.

Let the FTC handle this.  They've got the power to deal with this.  At least in the states.  But honestly, as others have said, the only way that this will ever be dealt with is if there is an international treaty against spam created.  Too bad that'll never happen.  Especially in countries like Nigeria where they're making billions off of idiots in our country and around the world.
