Hi guys, Just found this website/forum after looking around the net. I am looking to get a new PSU for my FIC Icecube because I killed my other one (starts to smell like its burning after a few minutes of running :0) I noticed looking through the forum there was 275 watt PSU from aopen that fits... but I don't know where I can buy that. Can someone send me to the right place so I can purchase one? Or maybe there is something better I should get. I don't mind having to modify my case if need be (It's not under warranty anymore ) I also want to pick up one of those Ht800 cpu fans or something similar... where would I get one Here is my system specs FIC VL-67 (i think...) 2.8Ghz P4 w/ HT BFG GeForce FX 5900XT OC (I will upgrade to a x800 or 6800 once I get a new PSU) 1gb Corsair XMS 80GB Seagate 150GB Maxtor Samsung 16x Dual Layer DVD Burner TIA!

Hi ScreameR, welcome to the forum! And the largest thread goin'.
If you're interested I'm part-ing out my Ice Cube and would be happy to sell you the 800HT HSF and/or the PSU (it's the 220w version) for a reasonable price. I can't help you with the AOpen 275 watter, 'cuz it isn't available through any retail channels. You'd have to get an AOpen box to take out the PSU.
Anyway, if you're interested send me a PM or reply here.
Cheers!

Hey guys thanx to screameR I did a little bit more research for that 275 watt aopen psu and found this. It has a 275 watt psu but I don`t know if its the one we need. Still looking it up. I`ll keep you informed guys. Its only $55 and you have a psu. Sell the case and you probably have a psu for $20. It says it for microbtx. Do you guys know if the connectors are the same? http://www.techforless.com/cgi...1.90320.A01?mv_pc=cnet

I just got my PC form RMA and I put everything back togethere. In startup, it recognizes all devices even memory speed and CPU. But right after that this screens pops up with blue screen and whole bunch of numbers and letters. On the top right it says. System Configuration CPU Type Intel Genuine Processor. it stucks in there and I tried to reboot and same problem. I pulled out the CPU again to see if there is any bent pins or if its seated properly and same problem. Can any of you help me?

gvistan Can you get into the bios section by pressing the delete key after powerup and before windows is supposed to load?
If so, you may want to check the boot order. If you just got your system back from service, chances are the bios are not the same as before. You should check it to make sure that hard drive zero is the first or cd drive first and hard drive zero next. I accidently messed around once and changed it to hard drive one and of course there wasn't any hard drive one so it did not boot. Good luck

I mess around with it and took out the wireless card and it booted. I tried another brand of wireless card and it booted, but once the driver for the wireless card is installed it froze. I rebooted and it freezes on the windows xp logo. I pulled it out and its working. Any Idea what is wrong? I called dlink and they said to install new driver, but still same problem.

Hey, just popped to see a thread that doesn't die. Nice to see some old names are still around. I've got the cheese grater model and has been running since 01/19/04. AWI9600XT software hicups and kills my PVR. Hate to say but ATI PVR software never was stable. The cheap Hawking USB-B wireless works fine wiht no drivers so did the B Belkin USB wireless, linksys, belkin and Dlink Gs just meesed with it, worked but faded in and out. B-wireless is as fast as my cable modem lets me go anyways, good luck. Kurt

are all the cards your trying to use D-Link? It may just be a problem with all ther drivers. You could try a fresh intsall on another HD and then try the card, it may be your windows install. also, is it running the same bios version as your last board?

um ya, the answer is realy easy! RETURN IT get rid of it RMA it what ever. but if its freezing your computer then there is something wrong with the hard ware its self. if it doesnt work in one computer its prob not going to work on any other computers as well. the problem sounds like its at the silicon level and if that is the case FORGET IT! do the right thing and go get your self a linksys wireless card

I tried linksys, dlink and netgear pci cards, it boots up, but once the driver is intalled it hangs. I tried it on different pc and it works. I called Ams and they said its a IRQ conflict, but they dont know how to fix it. They said all they did, was repace the LED light, clean it and upgrade the bios

Kurt, where did you install the 120mm fan? Any pics? I have the eg65d also and just installed the zalman cnps7000 alcu led cpu cooler because the factory fan and cooler was so darn loud. The zalman really quieted down the loudness. It used to be kind of like a constant high pitched whine. I was not sure if the noise was the cpu cooler or the xross blade fan. I am thinking about removing the xross blade and putting in a side exhaust instead. Please let me know how you modded yours and maybe post pics. Thanks

Well, I just bought a BFG 6800 OC and was really wondering if my Ice Cube would power the thing. I was having power issues with my PNY 5900SE...like all of the sudden Windows would tell me that it was having to cut some performance of the card due to a lack of power. But, so far I have had zero problems with the 6800. I have a P4 3.0E (yeah, I know...I'm an idiot. But I haven't had any problem with it yet, thank God...the AMS 800HT cooler keeps it between 24C and 33C idle, 3D gaming sees the high 40's), 1 Gig of Crucial PC 3200 Dual Channel, Seagate 160GB HD, Sony DVD Burner, ATech Pro-9 Media Card Reader, and the BFG. I think that's it power wise, and a 120mm fan that I have to drill holes for, a few blue cold cathodes, and the 800HT cooler. That's about it. Man, 220W isn't much. The 3DMark03 score for the PNY 5900SE was mid 5000's, but the BFG clocked mid 9000 yesterday. Plus, those twin blue LED fans look great. Too bad you can't overclock it more. I REALLY hate that you can't crank up the processor too. It seems it would be pretty easy to get 3.5-4Ghz. out of my P4. I'll post pictures when I get the sides drilled. I guess the Craftics plastic bits are the way to go. The size of the stock holes in the front are 3/16's. I hope the holes turn out clean. Later- -Adron adrondube@yahoo.com

Cheers! Art

totaly un related but I'm building a PSone lcd screen thing as well. for a trip I'm taking on NOV. 6TH to move to florida for the winter. Here is the deal I'm going to have to post a bunch of pics soon of my RIG I'll leave you with this to think about till I post some pic's in the next day or so. I'm not done YET but my box still have a few things to be finished before I consider it finished. let me give you a gist though. water cooled cool master mini 120mm irda ports 3.4ghz p4 1gig ram 400gig hd LITEON dvd burner latest every thing CRAP video card still I can afford an other gf3 64mb etchings and cut outs on the plastic side plannels when I get a chance to finish. I'll have the etchings and IRDA port mounted soon. then I'm just minus a special mesh siding that I want for the side pannel AND a better video card. I'm also thinking about putting an X-FI sound card in. I just finished moding my head phones a little while ago. zalmen 5.1 head phones, the prob with them is there great head phones but there is no MIC support. WELL I just took one of the sides off and appart and mounted a VERY VERY nice looking mic which looks like its part of the orignal design other then color miss match. even then its got a texture match so it doesnt look that offf CAN WE SAY CRAMPED CASE!!!

Just a quick note, as I'm a big fan of the Zalman surround sound headphones... While the usability and quality of the headphones is fantastic (in games and movies, music is so-so) they were sort of stupid about designing them. No volume control (I have the add-on controller box, which has the added feature of piping to my surround sound speakers as well as the surround headphones) and no attached mic. Anyway, they now also have this mic attachment: Zalman clip mic. It's not quite as good as a mic right in front of your mouth, but it works passably well and it's cheap as hell.
