I noticed in this forum some posts about the high temperature of the HDD used in Biostar iDEQ SFF. Can any of the iDEQ owners give their HDD temps (using HDD temperature or MBM) ? Please indicate idle temperature after 1 h, and after a load test. I recommend 10 cycles of Sandra HDD burning test, so that we all use the same reference. Please indicate the type of HDD and the model of iDEQ.

I am new to using Sandra. How do you just test the HDD? Also if I am overclocking a system will this program tell me if its stable?

I know that SATA HD runs hotter than regular IDE drive. That is why I pick Biostar iDEQ to begin with...

I tried the free software but for some reason it wouldn't run on my system. Using a WD800JB hard drive, but can't get a temp reading.
Temps on this machine seem a bit high to me. Smart fan shows the cpu running 47c, and that's with both sides off.
Any suggestions for cooling this thing down, or how to get a hd temp?

My WD 80gig SMART HDD won't work with the utility either.

I tried useing Speedfan and it reported the hd at 38c, which is a good moderate temp for this, I think. Speedfan will monitor and control all fans that the mb can access. I could get it to control the case fan ok, but not the cpu fan. Anyone know which fans are controlable on this board? http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php

Gah, got pulled out of town on buisness. I'm seeing around 44c idle and 47-48c under load with the agp card side panel removed. With it on, my temps crawled up 48-49 idle, and I didn't bother leaving the panel on to check load. I'm finally going to have some time to cut a hole and rig a 80mm fan off the side. I'll report back again then.
