No but I'd like to; had an idea after seeing one that some of my "extra" parts could turn it into a nice little linux server... This stuff never ends. I'll need two jobs to keep up with this stinking hobby!

I've got one now - and am sitting here posting from it. Took about an hour to get all the stuff put in and fired up rite away, booting from win2k cd. Running about 55 to 56 c on the cpu pretty much do'in nothin. Maxtor 80g ide shows minium 46 c and has been up to 50 c. Barton 2500 with 2x256 kingston and nvda fx5200 which is only there for the dvi to dvi input on monitor.
Locked up solid yesterday for no apparent reason. Ok since then.

Looks like u can nudge the fsb up or down one thingie at a time. No apparent multiplier change provided. Voltages are fixed. Also, no auto shut down for cpu over temp, which is kinda bad news. I thought this was pretty much standard on current machines. i toasted a new board and cpu a year ago when the hsf came loose - it was my fault that I didn't get it attached snug, but, if the board (tyan) had overtmemp shut off, it could have been saved.
Everyone that's seen the 200v has been impressed - I think it looks great!

I'm glad I found a few 200V users, as there are no official reviews out there (that I can find, anyway). You guys have answered a few of my questions already, but I've still got a few more, if you don't mind. 1. How good is the onboard audio? I know Via's new SB has great HD features, but is the Vinyl audio any good? nVidia makes a very good integrated sound solution, and I'm curious if Via has caught up. I have an Audigy2, but I might have to abandon it for the sake of my TV wonder VE. 2. What is the performance like? I know it's based on the KM400, is that KT400A-like in performance? That part may be harder to answer. 3. Is it quiet/loud? I don't like noisy cases. If you could help me out, I'd appreciate it, as I, too am conidering buying one. Thanks!

Biostar 200V, AMD Athlon 2000 XP, 256 2700 DDR Ram,DVD-ROM, Floppy & Various harddrives (Not SATA). Hi anyone had any problems using Westerndigital Harddrives with this beast? I have managed to load windows Me onto my system but I can't get get WinXP to load - It gets into a sort of loop - as if there is already an operating system on the drive? I am using a WD 10GB IDE drive for XP and a 600mb Seagate for Me. I have loaded Mandarke linux but it would only boot after a long time - 10 minutes. With Me it starts reasonably quick. So I suspect the Hard Drive I am using may be corrupt or need a low level format. Anyone got any ideas?? Thanks Brian

I have been unable to get a WD hard drive to work in the 200V. I just bought a 200V barebones and have been unable to get it working. I have a 160GB WD drive and an 80GB WD drive.

I have been unable to get my WD 120GB SATA hard drive working with 200V as well, though I'm not sure it's the hard drive's problem because I can't get the 200V to load the SATA drivers. I'm following the instructions for loading the SATA drivers from floppy disk as described in the readme file on the IDEQ Drivers CD, but WinXP Setup gives me an error "\SATA\winxp\viasraid.sys caused an unexpected error (18) at line 2108 in d:\xpsp1\base\boot\setup\oemdisk.c." If anyone has run into this problem I'd appreciate any help.
I have to assume this is comming from the WinXP CD 'coz there's no such directory on the 200V Drivers CD (or the driver loader floppy) and the full version of WinXP I bought includes service pack 1 (hence the xpsp1 directory referenced in the error).
As far as upgrading from Win Me to WinXP, that's always a problem (according to the folks in the Win2000 Admin class I'm taking) because Me and NT/2000/XP are based on very different architectures. I'll check my textbook, but I seem to recall that Me and XP can't coexist on the same machine.
Thanks.
