Hello:
I was wondering if someone can help me out with that... If I attempt to put the machine in standby mode via win XP
the hardrive etc is shuting down but only the fans continue to spin. this is not temp dependant. it goes forever.
maybe I need to change something in the bios? I dont want to turn the comp copletely off by the way.
thank you

In BIOS, did you change the standby type from 'S1' to 'S3'?  I believe that will fix your 'fans still running' problem.  Let me know.

I have found that the Standby feature works quite well on the 200N.  I have mine set up to go into Standby after 30 minutes, and to wake up/power up on a CTRL key combo.  For the wake up/power up by key sequence to work, you have to change the power jumper for the keyboard from +5V to +5V_SB, and select the key combo in BIOS.

Hi thanks for your input. it worked except for the fact that when I try to come back from standby / i have set it to any key/ the HD and fans etcc.. wake up but the monitor button cont to blink green. The only think that gets the monitor back is restart.
I have followed the procedure as you described it with  kb jumper change etc.
any ideas?
thanks a lot

In S3 suspend, the computer is not completely off; it should awaken to the state it was in.

Did you add an AGP card, or are you using the integrated graphics?  I use the integrated graphics.  It's possible that adding an AGP card screws up suspend mode; a driver update for the card might help, but chances are not good.

I use integrated graphics too. I changed the settings in the video power mode now and now I am able to wake the system up, but boy what an awakening... the computer reboots. When you "wake up" do you go through a complete reboot eg win xp logo etc or it just takes you to the logon screen?

Well, my system boots back to where it was before suspending.  It does not go through POST.

I'm running WinXP Pro, SP1, DX9.0B.   I used the supplied CD for chipset drivers.

Good Luck!
