Hi.  Does anyone know how long each of the cables that came with the EQ3401 is?  How long are the supplied IDE cables?  How long are the supplied Serial ATA Cables and the Serial ATA power cables?  Also, is it necessary to have the right angle Serial ATA cables?  I read on another thread that it's almost impossible to put the case back on unless you are using a right angled Serial ATA cable.  Last thing, is a 10 inch IDE cable long enough to reach from the topmost drive bay to the IDE connector on the motherboard (taking into account other objects that might get in the way)?  Thanks so much for any help!!!

It was me that mentioned the serial ATA cable.  I exchanged emails with Soltek about it, mentioning that the Biostar iDEQ has exactly the same drive mounting position, yet includes a right-angled connector.  Their "solution" was to move the hard drive in its frame so that it is fixed by 2 screws rather than a potential 6.  This leaves enough room for the straight SATA cable, though the drive will now foul any long PCI card you may have.  Needless to say, I bought a right-angled cable rather than botching it.

Ansalmo, could you please give me the lengths of all of the cables that came with the EQ3401?  The IDE cables, Serial ATA and Serial ATA power cables, etc..  Also, is a 10 inch IDE cable long enough to reach from the topmost drive bay to the IDE connector on the motherboard (taking into account other objects that might get in the way)? Thanks so much for any help!!!

Sorry Juno, all the cables are installed now and the QBic's at the bottom of a SFF pile. They're all plenty long enough though, especially the useless SATA cable which I had to coil out of the way when I was trying it out.

Do you think a 10 inch IDE cable is long enough to reach from the topmost drive bay to the IDE connector on the motherboard (taking into account other objects that might get in the way)?  Thanks again!!!

Probably, but why not just use the supplied ones?  They tuck out of the way nicely.

I already have some ATA133 rounded and shielded cables lying around (I'm not sure if they're 10 or 12 inches).  So you do think 10 ~ 12 inches is long enough from top drive bay to motherboard IDE connector?  Thanks again.

If you are in the US and are looking for a good right angle to straight - SATA cable get this one:

Looks like a good one.
