1) there are 2 internal 3.5" bays, don't see why not 2) if the 200W shuttles get by fine, the 3401M with its 250W PSU can definitely handle one extra optical drive.

1) The EQ3401 has two 3.5" drive bays (one internal for the hard drive and one external for a floppy drive or any other 3.5" drive you wanna put in there). If you're not gonna use the external one for the floppy drive, you can put another hard drive in there. However, others have had a hard time using the internal 3.5" bay (the one for the hard drive) for the hard drive if they used the supplied SATA cables. To use the internal 3.5" drive bay (the one for the hard drive) for a hard drive, you'll need a SATA cable that has a right angle connecter on one end and a straight connector on the other end.
2) The power supply is good enough for the components you are going to put in there. Mine will have a Sony DRU510A DVD +/- R/RW burner, a Samsung SM-352 CD-R/RW - DVD-ROM combo drive, a Seagate SATA hard drive and an ATI AIW 9600 Pro.

Oh, it might be more difficult to work inside the case if you are going to use 2 hard drives and 2 CDRom drives all hooked up by IDE. IDE cables are kinda big and restrict the available area inside the case where you can move around. You still should not have any problems regarding the power supply though.

one thing to think about the Eq3401 comes with one single and one double IDE cable so you will need to get yourself another double IDE cable. Also if you are using both OPTICAL BAYS, bare in mind that it restricts the size of any PCI card you may want to fit..

dont panic you can use standard IDE for all four devices just have to get that extra cable, you can pick these up at any comp store.

Like i said you can pick up a double IDe cable anywhere, the eq3401 comes with one you will just need to get one more, if your drives are not SATA then for simplicity just use the standard IDE.
With no pci card then you will be fine with 2 hdd and 2 cdroms/dvds
it will be tight with the cables but any SFF box will be the same, just have to make it tidy

but do you think my old one which will be long enough? which is from ATX ASUS motherboard with 2 extra ide ports while one of them is plug into the motherbroad (totally 3). so what you mean is that the soltek one only comes with a one port IDE cable?

the soltek comes with one 3 port as in 2 devices and mobo and one two port one device and mobo, so to fit four IDE devices you will need to get one more 3 port cable or use the old one from your system

no the mobo comes with 2 IDE sockets, 2 SATA sockets and 1 floppy socket. You cant use a floppy drive if you are going to have 2 HDD as there is no room.
It is not supplied with a heat sink, you will have to get that seperate
Im in York

You'll need to get an IDE cable with good header separation, as the lower 3.5" bay is at right-angles to the upper one. Even more so if you want to split the devices into one optical and one hard drive per channel (rather 2 HDDs on one channel and 2 optical on the other).

Not sure where they sell it cheap. I get all my Hardware through my company (I work as a Field Engineer in Network/Communications/Hardware, support and instalation.) so normally i get it at cost, or a bit cheaper than normal retail depending on what it is. (take note anyone in my area can somtimes help with cheap parts). My Eq3401a cost me £170 inc. stock P4 Fan, this is not that cheap but it is not somthing my company normally buys lol.
