i have a question for you guys have you had WUs that say

[04:42:03] Gromacs cannot continue further.
[04:42:03] Going to send back what have done.

and just begin another WU?
when this happens do you get any points for the work done or just lost time?

I had it happen before and you get a percentage of what the WU is worth - not sure how it works it out

You get partial credit.
If it happens too often Stanford suggests it might be due to overclocking or a hardware malfunction.
Too often being more than once a week on the same box.
