Hi guys (especially johnrr6),
Here's what I've been doing to my system.
I'm running my 1700+ at 200x11 (2.2GHz) with a Radeon 8500 and a Leadtek Winfast Tv Tuner (simialr to the one used by johnrr6
here except that mine is Pal-B). The system has no problems running and is very stable. But when watching tv, i am getting horrible distortions on certain channels, especially the higher frequencies. Btw, I'm in singapore so I don't know how many of you will be familiar with it. Anyway, the lower frequency channels seem to be fine.
I immediately suspected the agp card, since it SO close to the tv tuner . So I removed it and tried out the onboard. Knowing that johnjrr6 got dead boards by running onboard video at 200fsb, i downclocked to 133fsb.
The tv tuner works fine now. And i'm running at 166fsb now. But in all honesty, I would prefer to use my 8500 instead of the onboard graphics.
So my questions are:
1) Does anybody have any problems using a tv tuner with an agp card? I thought it was the active cooling, so i plugged out the fan. But there was still distortion. SO i'm guessing its electrical interference instead of physical interference. Any comments? Anyone using a similar setup with/without problems.
2) Has anyone tried running > 166Mhz fsb with onboard graphics? Any problems? I would love to test it out but i can't afford the downtime in case the board dies on me. The stocks for the 200n in singapore isn't very high. I'll probably have to wait a month to get a replacement.
Thanks for any help guys.
