Question says it all really. Unbelievably, the Antec Super Lanboy appears not to have an internal speakr to connect to the motherboard. Does anyone know where I can buy one in the UK?

Cheers

What sound card do you have?  Some sound cards actually have a spot to plug the PC Speaker in.  (Note: SPDIF also uses two pins so just because it is a two pin connector doesn't mean it is for PC Speaker.)

I'm using the onboard audio (Soundstorm) on the Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe (see sig). The problem is there's actually no speaker in the case (or none that I can see). Why don't motherboards have these things built in?

any speaker will do it, just need a conector.
You can get those nice little ones on a stalk that just stand proud of the mobo!

I just thought of something, wonder if it will work, take a CD Audio cable and take one side and reconfigure it with the red wire going into one side and then put the ground on the other side with the two pins in the middle blank.  Leave the other side as it is and plug it into the Aux or TAD connection on your sound card and it should come out of your speakers!

hmmm....  wonder if that would work....  Don't really know.  Depends on if those connecters are done in hardware or if they have to go through the chipset first.  If they have to go through the chipset itwill probably on beep if the system is booted.  Which is of no use.

On a side note, some motherboards do have the little speaker things on them but not many.  All Intel brand motherboards have them, and a few other manufacturers put them on ther but not many.  They started too transision a few years back but then stoped putting them on ther.  Probably to kee cost down or something.

I've wedged the speaker off my old case, it was only held on by two small clips problem solved.

Why do you really need any?
All it does is say "beep" when you boot the computer, or many "beeps" if some harware
has failed and it cant boot up. If you lived near me you could have a bag full of them as
I never use them in any of my systems.
