Hi guys, this is my first post, i read quite a bit in here before deciding to buy my shiny new shuttle but hoped that i wouldn't have to actually write anything in here *SIGH*
I bought all my kit last week and set it up this weekend:
SN85G4
Athlon64 3200+
Sapphire Radeon 9800PRO
512MB Corsair XMS TwinX 2700
Samsung 160GB SATA
SAMSUNG DVD/CD-RW

It had been working witout a hitch for 3 days and was proving to be  cracking beast. Then today i heard a popping noise, turned around and it had just switched off with no warning. When i tried to power on again the blue power LED just flashed once and powered off again. Then the switch didn't work at all. If i remove the power cable and wait for the power to drain from the motherboard, put the cable back in it does the same, lets me try once, flashes LED once and then nothing till i remove the cable again.

After reading a few posts on here i knew there had been power consumption issues so i tried removing power from the video card, cd and HD. Still nothing.

I let the machine sit and cool in case it was over heating somewhere but again nothing.
I have managed to get it to boot twice but I can't find a relationshit to anything i was trying to why it did boot and even then it just switched itself off again after around 5 mins.

The fact it wont let me try and boot until i remove power from the MB for a while makes me think something is going on in the PSU, but then the fact it has booted twice since and shut off again makes me think it is overheating but i cant see why after 3 days of running flawlesly.
Please can anyone offer a hint as to what might be going on and how to fix it..?

I have read alot of posts about similar problems on here but most people at least seem to get to the POST stage, the fan on my ICE doesn't even seem to have time to start up.. (

Welcome, pyrobri...wish it werre under better circumstances for you.  It sure has all the earmarks of a faulty psu.  It's early in the game, so you should be able to RMA/exchange it.

Good luck.

I think u'r PSU is busted. Some old psu's for desktops had this problem too... u could hold the power button for a long time and it would magically come on sometime. Moving all the jumpers to different possitions sometimes helped out but usually did nothing.

I think you should try to RMA the unit and see if u can get a new one under warranty.

Well whadda you know, i tried holding the power button down, didn't work, tried again, didn't work but it did let me make 2 attempts without pulling the cord. So i tried it again and this time it came on....
Will see how long it sits there for but at least it does look like it's the PSU and not my PSU getting fried )
Cheers everso )

Whil i'm here can anyone point me in the way of a decent system monitoring tool. To get PSU temperature etc?

Nope it's gone again and i cant get it to come up again no matter how muc i play with the power. Looks like i'm gonna have to get it replaced. Do you know if they send out a new PSU or whole system or you have to send yours to them first etc?
