What are the edges of the windows like underneath the rubber lining? My dremel blew up the other day so I'm considering getting a nibbler to finish the job.

They are fine.  I sanded it down to a nice smooth finish but Black does not look good like that.  Silver you can get way without having the rubber lining.

i actually was able to cut a pretty straight line with the dremmel. trick is to use the thin cutting wheel and really have it spinning fast. It will cut through that aluminum like butter. just let the rpm's do the work and dont try to make it cut faster than it wants to. or it will suck itself down into the groove and your cutting wheele will explode into many sharp flying pieces. Safety glasses are a must.

PerfectCr. Nice additional mods bud

they are invaluable, when you're cutting just make sure to go slow and not let the tool bog down,,   and have a nice firm steady grip on it. if it got loose you could easilly end up sawing off a favorite finger really fast.

I went to Home Deopt today, found the right hole saw for a 80mm blow hole which most likely will not fit behind my Plextor drive, lovely.  Not one person in the place knew what a Nibbler was, I got strange looks when I asked.

got my nibbler at radioshack for $4.99

however i know that some radioshacks dont carry it. The workers there had no idea and wouldn't even look it up on the database.

I tried another RS down the street about 3 miles away from the other, they had it, surprisingly everyone there knew what it was.

PerfectCr I believe I asked this in another thread but couldn't for the life of me remember which one!  How is that lining attached?  I believe the stuff you are using has only one side indented, I presume this is the side that fixes to the case itself?  How do you hold the mesh in place?  Is the mesh simply held in place behind the lining, or is it actually held within the lining?

i think he used double sided tape (3M) but i'm not sure.

For the side i'm gonna use THIS and the top blow hole -> THIS
I think that is what he use for the top and side CLICK HERE

It's attached with double sided regular 3M tape.  See my original post in this thread.  The lining just stays there.  It is "C-Strip" rubber lining.  I got it from "PCMODS.com".

The Mesh is behind the lining.  I cut the Mesh bigger so the tape is beyond the limits of where the lining touches the mesh.  The MESH you cut should be bigger than the actual window so you can affix it to the case.  It is NOT held within the lining.

I wouldn't but that think stuff.  It is too big and ugly.  The C-Strip works perfect and is all you really need.  That huge rubber molding is for holding windows in place but you do not want to use that method for a window in an XPC.

How does it deal with Corners perfectcr?  I was planning on having a nice square window.  The other thing is what is the wisth of that stuff?  I have another mod that will need a fair bit of that stuff, and the mod is fairly small.
