I'd stay away from Peltier cooling unless you're in the mood to (a) potentially ruin your system (b) spend a lot of $$$ and (c) spend a lot of time on that monster...

Seriously, I'd never use a Peltier cooler because it requires so much power, money and you have to be super-carefull when installing it. Plus the combination of a Peltier and air-cooling doesn't seem to make much sense to me. If you go down that road then you should consider a good water-cooling setup.
Especially with excellent heatsink such as the Zalman 7000s available to us I don't see any reason to use risky cooling methods...
