As I dont really fancy modding is it posible to buy one of these ,  And then paint it with some silver spray paint. Cheeers Just a Tip, instead of finding image hosting. get the url of the image.. and type "[IMG]" On both sides of the url, (without the "") |

It was LordZim would painted it with Rustolem "hammered aluminum" silver spray paint.

LoRDZiM, are the screws for the mesh on that case machine screws? Or pointed self-tapping sheet metal screws ??

I would try it on something first. since I've worked with rustolium paint before i know what the hammered finish is going to look like when it drys. Quote

It depends on the paint, you can get a spraycan or just a can of the paint i used and it will turn out about the same. |

Our equivalent would be Hammerite. You can get it in places like Halfords. I used Smoothrite (part of the Hammerite range) on my burner front coz it's less dimpley. This pic seems to catch more of the dimpleyness than the naked eye though. BTW the silver is an almost exact match for Shuttles silver. |

Cheers nosticky  And the good thing with hammerite is that prep time is minimal, just make sure what's to be painted is free from grease or oil (no primer needed). I've had it react with other paint surfices in the past so testing it on a hidden area first is advisable. Oh, and the stuff lasts too, I sprayed my bathroom tiles silver (!) with it a couple of years ago and it's still good as new. |
