US revokes $25,000 aid package to the Saudis...I'm sure taking away that 25k will make a huge statement. At the same time, WTF are we doing giving them money in the first place? This story is bizarre from every conceivable angle.

it would not be possible for you to find a nation (except cuba) that does NOT get economic aid from the US. you know those pissant EU countries? the ones with a euro higher than the dollar? why do you think that is? cause we pay their bills and keep them solvent with contracts.
the entire planet suckles at the tete of the US, which is fine. What is not ok is when we say we're going to war and they start asking questions.

I was going to ask you how was the self hypnosis and associated brain washing was going, but I needn't of bothered - you seem to be doing rather well. Good work - Keep it up....

Perhaps because they gainfully employ thousands of Americans, and grant concessions to US oil companies? The scrapping of the aid won't hurt Saudi, but it will appear that US ties are weakening. Which is what both govts want the terrorists to think. A brownie point to US foreign policy makers here..............

What good will the weakening of ties do? All I would think it would do is embolden the terrorists. The only other ploy I can think that this would be used for is to put the terrorists offguard before we open a big can of whoopa** on them sometime soon. Otherwise it serves no purpose.

If it's done in public, it gives the appearance that the US govt is not happy with Saudis "failure" to deal with fundamantalism, and is backing way from dealing with them, while in private the two work closer together to deal with fanatics. It's been done before. It lulls the terrorists into a sense of false security.

Saudis are the americans best friends. Whatever can be printed and the saudis will still recieve colossal aid from the UDS in return for oil.
Things won't change.

I certainly hope that your theory is correct. We shouldn't look to make an enemy out Saudi Arabia. It is unnecessary and nothing but bad can come of it. But 25k is chomp-change... whooopi. I know we think we are the World and don't need any allies, but we do NEED them. I hope that our future politicians are wise-enough to see that.

From what I've seen, Saudis pretty much keep to themselves and view all outsiders as untrustworthy. While I think a public gesture like cutting off aid hurts them politically, I doubt it gives any Saudi terrorists an advantage.

Who needs allies when you have Earth Fleet around? If they get too far out of line, I'll just throw some protomatter bombs at them and get their attention.
