I am intending to purchase a Nebula DigiTV card and am trying to decide between a PCI or USB card and after browsing nebula-electronics usb or pci I am tending towards a USB implementation. So,  my question is Has anyone anything else to add on this subject?

I've tried both. Although there's no great difference between them, the PCI version seemed a little more stable and, on a  slow machine, a little smoother. The USB model had a slight habit of crashing or locking up if the remote was used to change channels (and some other command) too quickly; once crashed the USB device almost always required unplugging and rebooting. I don't want to sound over critical of the DigiTV USB, it works very well, a friend of mine has it working with his lap top and would be with out it.

I have to admit to being biased against USB devices generally; they never quite lived up to my expectations. But, I think that unless you have a requirement for a USB device (i.e. Laptop, problems with SATA or Fire devices [see previous thread] ) then I'd go for the PCI device every time.

I did have compatibility issues with the usb version and in the end had to swap it for the PCI version, which is much better (still slightly unstable, but i suspect this is due to my RAM). My mate tried the usb version on his (slower) pc and it worked fine, so it may be that there was a slightly odd problem with my pc, but this could represent wider problems with the usb version.

The pci version has analogue inputs for another source (video player, games console etc.), but in my experience it's rubbish!
