My predictions about this debate are exactly the same as before, with the following exceptions: Fall-apart may reference instapundit. Ric, whom I forgot about last time, will fall somewhere in between Scutmonkey and BG. He will be balanced out on the left side by VorlonUK. Rounding out the left will be Zut50. Sorry guys, I forgot about you last time. My Bad.
General impressions and best lines. Weirdest line heard from Kerry if I only listened to Republican spin: "I'm going to restore fiscal Responsibility" Oddest term used by Bush: "Fiscal Insanity" Line most used to support detractors of Bush's Speech habits: "Vee-hicles" Newest Kerry line that Republicans can use for ammo: "Truth Standard" I think this is somewhat like a limbo bar ... "How low can you go?" Most devastating from Kerry: "89 Billion went to the top 1% of the country, yet school children lost there after school programs. You be the judge" Worst reference Kerry could have used: "Two major US news networks" Because they're so reliable ... Line non-Christians fear and Christians don't believe from Kerry: "My faith affects everything I do." Weirdest transition by Bush: When asked about minimum wage, he goes off onto Education, and never actually answers the question.
Discussion on faith: Bush: God wants everyone to be free. (he does? Generally, I don't presume to know what God wants, just what he tells me). Best line form the Bible by Kerry: "We have more loving of Neighbours to do"
Closing impressions John Kerry: I'm everything you want me to be (Catholic, Hunter, former law-enforcement officer) George W Bush: Poked a lot of fun at himself at the end, when questioned about his wife. Seems to speak from the heart. New nickname: President blinky Back to Kerry: Seems to speak from the head, and will someone please tell him to stop smiling!?! He looks like a used car salesman, and it's freaking me out.
Scariest moment of the debate (possibly the entire campaign) This moment came at 10:07 Pm, EST, as I realised that Bush and Kerry were wearing the EXACT SAME CLOTHES!!! Who am I going to vote for now? Oh, right, I'm Canadian ...
Time to get back to my poor health care and drugs of doom ...
(This message has been brought to you by the bipartisan commission on mocking the entire election process. I'm Wunderbolt and I approved this message)
EDIT: Was it just me, or did Bush seem to shoot down a lot fo Kerry's examples. Whenever Kerry said "Let me give you an example [of how this administration is incompetent]" Bush would say "See, that's actually not true. Here's what we did ... "

I like the darker red better. But thats just me. I thought they looked funny standing together.
I think the thing that could hurt Bush the most, as you mentioned above is- "Weirdest transition by Bush: When asked about minimum wage, he goes off onto Education, and never actually answers the question. "
Was he saying to the working people that lost their jobs that they should go back to school and basically stop whining? Doesnt matter if you agree or not, telling the working class they arent smart enough isnt a good idea.

I think the biggest line that showed how bush is completely clueless or in denial when he said "our healthcare system is the envy of the world" thats just scary if he belives that.
I think Bush peaked in #2, he was a bit back to his performance in #1 (Gallop post debate polls seam to reflect this too, kerry won debate 3 by like 13 points ). Unfortently I think Kerry caught a bit of GWBs #1 performance, he started to "Uh" .
I liked Kerry's overall religious responses how he said you can't go taking one religions side since not everyone is of that religion, i wish the religious right would get that. It's fine if you belive this or that, but it has no business in putting your relgious ideas on others. We need some crazy religous group (not the ones allready in power, a new one) to get in office and do the same, maybe the main stream religions would catch on then.
I think GWBs podium should be congradulated for not breaking under constant pounding.
Kerry did good in busting some good jokes
Bush needs to learn to not think out loud, or let carl rove finish feeding a joke into his ear first before talking, Bush's response to Kerry mentioning 2 tv networks was a disastor if that was suppose to be a joke.
Still, I think debates need to attach electrodes to both canidates penis, when they lie, or definitly when they repeat soemthing again that has been shown to be BS so many times, they get jolted (so every time Bush says that 98 votes to increase taxes crap that has been known by everyone to be BS he gets jolted) I think both would take soem good hits there.
Ok, I see Larry King has Ann Colter on now, I have to go get away from this before watching her makes me scream humanity and all logic is doomed (this woman can't be real, she's like if Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'reilly were melted down, mixed, concentrated, and had some DNA of a watermellon tossed in was turned into a human).

I thought it was a tie because they both looked like dorks - WunderBolt has already pointed out Bush's way off-topic schpiel on education. Most unintentionally funny line (Kerry): It's against the law in America to hire illegally (uh, duh?)
The last question was the one that made both candidates look most human, and Bush pulled off the resemblance better than Kerry (he really does smile like a used car salesman).
Bush still needs to work on his delivery. He kept pausing as if he were waiting for someone to tell him that the first part was right and he could go on speaking. Strange. Also, his attempt at joking about the reliability of the major news networks to a CBS moderator was plain stupid.
Kerry needs to get some better content. Nothing he said was new or substantial. ANd he never answered where all his money was going to come from to pay for his Medicaid and Social Security proposals.

Well, first of all, he's not my president - I'm Canadian. Secondly, I wasn't referring to how they dress (although Stockwell Day looked pretty goofy in his wetsuit). They dodged questions, they stumbled through answers, they misquoted statistics, and all that combined made them look dorky...

Would someone please tell me what is up with Kerry/Edwards insisting on mentioning Cheney's gay/lesbian daughter? Could they...I don't know...leave the poor girl alone?
And as far as Bush mentioning the reliability of the 2 tv networks information...Not sure of the point there. I would say it's risky of him to say that...but he knows those same networks are after his scalp anyway....So the comment probably won't change much.

"Could they...I don't know...leave the poor girl alone? "
Thank you BG. I wish they would just leave her alone. I wish they wouldnt have to continually try to change the constitution to say that she is less than other people. For some reason the Republicans are intent on telling the Vice Presidents daughter that shes not equal. Im glad you can come out and say to leave her alone.

Nice try, Roc...But it's obviously a little early for you. Believing that marriage is a union between a man and a woman (and that's what it has meant through all of history) is not, repeat, NOT discrimination against gays...nice try though.
Oh, and Roc you're welcome.

Homosexuality was just legalised a couple years ago by the Supreme court. Give them an inch and they take a mile! ' http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,135392,00.html By the way The second lady is pretty peeved at John Kerry. John Kerry should have talked about his own homosexuality rather than the Cheney daughter.

rofl. Personally I think the government has --no business-- passing laws governing marriage whatsoever. I think the government has --no business-- telling churches that 1)they must allow gay marriage, or 2) they must forbid gay marriage; either way, it's the dictating to the church what they may or may not do that is completely wrong and against the very fabric of our Constitution, which mandates separation of church and state.
Here's what I believe, in no particular order.
1. Government has no business messing with the affairs of the Church. 2. The Church is a sovereign entity and can decide its affairs for itself. 3. The Church can perfectly well forbid gay marriage on their own. They need no help from the Government and the Government has no right to tell them they must allow gay marriage. 4. The Government should not use the institution of marriage in affecting its tax laws, its estate laws, its custody laws, and so forth! 5. The Government needs its own definition of an 'union,' in which it will not discriminate against any individual following the Government's own civil rights obligations, and such Government definition of an 'union' should apply to all the same instances in where marriage currently affects Government laws. 6. The separation between Church and State, providing the Church with absolute and complete autonomy over its sacred institution of marriage, and providing the Government with its own definition of 'union,' of which the Government may specify its own criteria by which to recognize such an 'union,' must always be revered and held in the highest respect.

I too agree with Wunderbolt's summation of the latest Debate....
Babar's list of belief's is good, especially his number 5! The term "union" needs to be separated from "marriage" as far as the Government is concerned. I know some Gay people, and they are among the nicest and most caring people I have ever known

Requisite Reynolds reaction: hereBest e-mail: Both sides think they lost. Watching BBC with the spin merchants. Hard sale. The Republicans look depressed and the Democrats look absolutely desperate. Both caning it utterly unconvincingly. Another unintentionally funny moment from last night: Kerry's attemp to convince that a Democrat wouldn't be beholden to special interest groups... ha!

And Republicans then aren't beholden to special interests, namely, people with lots of money who will contribute $2,000 to their campaigns, such as CEOs of just about every corporation in America, not to mention the oil industry thugs?

Yeah, but Bush didn't outright say he wasn't, Kerry did. Best summary: quote:
John Kerry: “Whatever you need, it’s yours. Need a job? You got it. Need a higher living wage? Done. Need cheap, universal healthcare? I’m your man. Need a better education? Have at it, paid in full. Relying on social security for your retirement? I’ll put it in a lock box. Tax relief? I can give you that, too. Want to lose your virginity to a teenage Mexicali hooker and a donkey? I’ll print coupons. And the best part is, every single one of my plans comes with free cole slaw and a plate of homestyle biscuits!†George Bush: “Anybody who believes this guy can deliver on even one percent of his promises deserves four years of John F’n Kerry. God bless, and good night.â€

It is the envy of the world, the price isn't, however. The fact of the matter is, when rich foreigners get sick they come to the US for treatment. quote:

That woman is a pit bull and it's very disappointing. She's actually on the ball with her facts and alot of her analysis, but I can't stand her belligerent presentations. At times she's downright cruel and it doesn't do anybody any good.
