Ok, so I'm watching tv last night trying to escape all the election stuff because I'm worn out.  As is our nightly ritual, my GF and I are watching CSI reruns on Spike TV when a commercial comes on.  It has this young black man at what looks like a party talking about how he's going to start a new business.  All of the sudden the minority woman he's talking to says to him, "not if you get drafted."  At first I thought it was something like a Saturday Night Live skit because it was so clumsy and poorly done.

Complete video on this page.

What bothers me is how this was obviously a pure piece of FUD designed to scare young potential Republican voters.  I've found it gets even better if you watch all the commercials.  There are several aimed at the "22 million single moms" who didn't vote in the last election.  The issues they're addressing and the demographics they are targetting are obviously designed to get the vote out for Democrats.  I wonder how enthusiastic "Rock The Vote" would be if it turned out Republicans came off better from their voting drives.

So much for impartial.  So much for just trying to get young people involved in the election.

***EDIT***

Somehow I got the wrong URL.  Fixed.
