I have a SK41G right now, 2400XP, 1GB DDR2100 and GF4 Ti4400.  Its been a pretty decent gaming machine, but its incredibly hampered by the 266mhz bus.  I'm looking for an inexpensive replacement (which leaves out the nforce boards) and the iDEQ 200V w/ the KM400 chipset fits the bill pretty well.

I'm looking to put a 333mhz Barton, 512 DDR2700 and the GF4 Ti4400.  How will that do for some mild gaming?  I'm wondering if I'll have any cooling problems?  I heavily modded my Shuttle before, but would prefer to keep anything new stock.

That 333Mhz barton has me confused, but just go ahead and get pc3200, it's a few bucks more for the same size.

the 400mhz bartons on pricewatch are only $130 or more?  I'm looking to put a less expensive chip in there w/ the ram I already have.

I'm pretty sure a 400MHz FSB Barton will not work in the 200V. It only supports up to the 333MHz FSB 3000+. In my 200V's BIOS, settings only goes up to 199 ... x 2 for 398MHz effective FSB and even at that speed it probably won't work because no AGP/PCI lock.

I did buy PC3200 Corsair Value Select though, it wasn't much more expensive than the PC2700 and if I the 200V ever breaks or I decide to move on to something else like a socket 754 or intel 875 or 865 chipset, I could still use the RAM. I can't recall if I was able to change the timings of the RAM with the 200V, but I use the same PC3200 with an nForce2 and I could run it at CL2 PC2700 if I wanted to.

But overall, I don't see how a 2400XP w/ 1GB PC2100 could possibly be incredibly slow, you aren't making a very big performance jump by moving to a Barton that can't be fully overclocked in a 200V (damn KM400 chipset).

I just got a 200V.  I'd say it is a decent mild gaming rig.  Check my signature for my specs.

I've only tested Mech Commander 2, but it ran great at 1024x768.  I still have to find time to test the Battlefield games and Far Cry...

To be honest, compared to your old rig, you aren't going to see much of a jump in performance.  Especially when you drop the ram from 1gb to 512mb, that will hamper your gaming for any newer games by quite a bit...

Yes I think they are good systems I get most of my stuff from newegg.com,Including  My newsest mini IDEQ 200V wich seems to be working well installed xp no probs updated the bios no problems  and the smart fan util is nice for adjusting the fan speeds  depending on what your doing. The only thing I dont like is that I cant seem to get my GENUINE AMD RETAIL XP2700+ 333MHz FSB to show up,instead it shows up as a 1500+ @ 333FSB works well with Ever Quest in the traiders guild or MARKET @ medium settings with 512MB 333FSB mem.Other than the CPU prob I would recomend this SFF PC.Also before I go I think the reason there are so  many Complaints about this system is people  dont read before they do,MESSAGE BOARDS ROCK! well take care peeps I will try to post seom pics about my new SFF mods .
