One of the reasons why I use Firefox, is Tabbed Windows.

I was looking at programs that may exist to give Tabbed Windows to IE, and I came across via the Microsoft Web site (Yes, really), this. Plus its free!

Advanced Browser

I am trying it at present, and so far it is looking good.

Ahh, the joys of Tabbed Windows...

It also has a setting to prevent flash animations from being downloaded, so that should help the speed of web pages being downloaded, and displayed.

1) there are less security holes in it. it is open source, and therefore hundreds of people across the world can report any security holes in the program
2) a much smaller % of people use firefox (i suppose it is because most people only know of IE) and therefore, the sad bastard hackers and virus creators will generally focus on IE because it will cause much more havoc globally

if you like IE and want to use tabbed windows or other nifty little features, give Maxthon [http://www.maxthon.com] a try.  I've been using it for years now, when they were MyIE2 and its really reliable.  I also use Firefox because of its sleek looks, but I found Maxthon to be a lot faster.  Give it a try and see how you like it.

It is where you have more than two or more windows ("pages") running within one instance of a browser.

Perhaps the term "Tabbed Windows" should be called "Tabbed Pages", but I would of thought you would know what I meant!?

Anyway I have uninstalled "Advanced Browser", and "Maxthon" since the former using Mouse Gestures differently to what I would prefer, and "Mathon" whilst the Mouse Gestures are as they should be, still does not beat Firefox.

So I will stick to Firefox for now, and use IE when compatibility (compatible to IE, not to "standards")  or Windows Update demands it. I was just hoping I could get both within one browser.

Thank you for the info.  That sounds like a really neat (and overdue) change to IE.   They've been doing something similar with Spreadsheets for years now.

Anyone who wants tabbed browsing but does not wish to obliterate iE or skin it with Maxthon or another front end GUI can integrate tabbed browsing right into iE itself with a software add-on.
